Greetings District 20 Members,
At our upcoming District 20 Annual General Meeting on May 13, 2021, you will be asked to approve the new Governance of District 20 document that will replace the present Constitution.
Several years ago through Vision 20/20 and the District 20 website, we informed you that RTOERO was undergoing the process of creating an entirely new way of governing in accordance with the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporation Act. This process was completed in 2018. RTOERO Districts were advised to examine their respective constitutions with the purpose of developing their own District Governance documents using the model provided by RTOERO.
In January 2020 a District 20 committee was formed to develop a draft of a District 20 Governance document. The committee, chaired by John Kitney and supported by Juanita Everett, Ted Whiteland and myself, met several times and developed the first draft for presentation to the District 20 Executive in February 2020. The document was submitted to RTOERO Governance Committee in April 2020 and returned in November 2020 with suggestions for minor changes. The final District 20 Governance document is being presented to you for your approval at the May 13, 2021, AGM.
